Sunrise over First Pond at Fish Creek Ponds, New York

I shot this photo around 7 this morning from my campsite at Fish Creek Ponds in the Adirondacks.

My day began around 5:30 a.m., and by the time I took this photo I had already eaten “pre-breakfast” — a muffin and cup of coffee — and hiked for a couple of miles. After I shot the photo, it was time for a short bike ride to reserve a kayak at a nearby marina.

Then I had the full breakfast: bacon, eggs, orange juice and green tea, followed up with freshly pan-fried English muffins:

I have no photos of the English muffins. They were too good to wait through a photo shoot.
