More About Ice And The Commuter Plane Crash

Here’s some informed observations about the role ice may have played in the crash of Colgan Air Flight 3407 from Ask the Pilot columnist Patrick Smith at Salon.com and Dave Demerjianon on the Wired Autopia blog.

Both mention the possibility of an ice-induced tailplane stall. NASA made a video warning of this very phemenon 11 years ago. An edited version from an AP report is below; and here’s a link to the full video.
