Britain’s tabloid press is to be applauded for the liveliness of its headlines, but I think this one from The Daily Mirror may be a bit over the top: Vomit virus hits ‘cursed’ cruise ship.
The story went on to explain that more than 200 passengers on the Fred. Olsen cruise lines’ Balmoral “have been struck down with the potentially lethal norovirus.” This after the ship got hit with very rough weather in the Bay of Biscay last month.
Still, rather strongly put. Noroviruses are miserable but are very rarely fatal in healthy adults.
I do, however, appreciate the alliteration and will try to go one better. How about: Vicious vomit virus victimizes vessel
