US Airways Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger told Katie Couric in a “60 Minutes” interview that the loss of both engines before he ditched an Airbus A320 in the Hudson River gave him “the worst sickening, pit-of-your-stomach, falling-through-the-floor feeling.”
He certainly dealt with it well. The FAA released a recording today of his conversation with air traffic controllers as the flight went down, and he sounded remarkably calm.
