Hotel Wi-Fi Fee Dodged

So this morning I woke up in a very nice hotel, courtesy of Priceline, with a serious need to blog.

Using my Blackberry as a tethered modem was not yielding the required bandwidth and I simply was not willing to pay the $12 hotel wi-fi fee. Matter of pride.

Then I remembered the Starbucks in the lobby. The husband and I carried the laptop downstairs, bought coffees and got a code for Internet access.

Total cost: $5. Plus, we got coffee.

I HATE paying a WiFi fee at a hotel…they’re expensive enough. I stayed at a Hilton in Chicago and they charged for EVERYTHING! Even holding your bag for a hour or two. I stay at the Carlyle in DC fairly often and all of that is free.
