Southwest Airlines, already looking at a partnership with WestJet in Canada, is now eyeing Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean, the Associated Press reports.

Could a partnership offering flights to Europe be far behind?

Yes, says airline consultant  Mike Boyd. It could be way far behind.

“The last thing an international carrier wants is low-fare trash in the back of the plane,” he told the AP. “And Southwest doesn’t need Europe.”

Well, ouch. How do we low-fare trash travelers get across the Atlantic?
