California May Require Cops On Cruise Ships

A legislative committee in California is backing a bill that would require cruise lines to put a police officer on board every cruise ship leaving from a California port.

As the Los Angeles Times points out, there’s also some movement toward federal legislation on cruise ship safety.

This has been a long time coming, and I think some change is inevitable. Whether that will include cops on board remains to be seen.
