Chris Elliott points out on Tripso that a few pieces of unflattering news about the travel industry just happened to get released Friday, before the holiday weekend, when we weren’t paying attention.
In one case, Disney World was charged with five safety violations involving the Primeval Whirl roller coaster at Animal Kingdom. An employee was killed by the roller coaster last fall.
Joe Sharkey points out that the holiday spirit seemed to have a strange effect on some reporters. They missed the news that Frontier Airlines is instituting a fee for a second checked bag because they were more interested in the fee increase for checking antlers. As amusing as that may or may not be, most of us are more concerned about the second bag.
Anyway, I’m glad somebody was paying attention Friday. Even if it wasn’t me …
