Delta Dropping Flights Between Bradley and Columbus

Here’s something I missed (but the attentive members of the Bradley Airport Yahoo! group didn’t) during the hubbub over plane inspections: Delta is dropping direct flights between Bradley and Columbus, Ohio.

Delta has been offering 10 flights a week to Columbus – twice a day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays; and once a day on Sundays and Wednesdays. The two-hour flights, operated by Delta Connection partner Chautauqua Airlines, are on 50-seat Embraer 145 regional jets.

Delta’s schedule shows the flights disappearing early in June.

The loss of those flights and the 500 seats a week out of Bradley come as no surprise. Airlines are cutting back hard on sevice, and cutting back hardest at smaller airports like Bradley. But it’s a shame.

The Columbus Dispatch has more details.

It is funny how quickly things change! My husband & I just flew nonstop in March of this year and we were hoping to do it again in August and now they are no longer available. I am so disappointed! This was the perfect flight for us since we have family in the Columbus/Dayton area.
