An unofficial survey of my niece Maeve and myself concluded that the best magazine to read on a plane is The Week.
It’s a digest of news, columns and reviews from newspapers and magazines around the world, served up in easily digestible bits. A bit like People magazine in format, but more with the news and not so much with the celebrities. It’s great for relieving boredom in short bursts of information.
I’m a subscriber, so I brought an issue with me to Turkey, and consumed it on the fırst leg of my trip. I gave it to Maeve, who hoarded it for a long bus trip.
Oddly, I thınk the worst magazines for plane rides are airline magazines. Many of them are so bland and pretentious that I can rarely find anything of interest to read.
