It occurred to me to dig around my foreign coins for euros, since I was going to travel through the airport in Amsterdam on the way to Istanbul. I thought I might want to buy a cup of coffee or something.
I turned up €11.03; which I must have brought home from Spain last April. When I did the math, I realized that I’d paid $14.89 for those euros at the exchange rate of about $1.35 to the euro last April. Now, at $1.47 to the euro, my euro-change is worth $16.21.
I turned a profit of $1.32. Hurray!
Now if only the rest of my meager net worth weren’t in dollars …
