Here’s a driving tip for everyone who hits the road in snow country: you’re supposed to clear off the car.
I took this photo of an SUV on my way to work this morning. The 8 inches of snow on the roof? It’s illegal to drive around like that. Why? Because that snow is going to fly off the roof into someone else’s windshield or onto the already plowed road. And that will endanger another driver.
Also, I don’t think the cops are going to be too happy about this driver’s obscured license plate and brake lights.
By the way, I don’t have a garage and it is a pain in the butt to clear off the top of my Subaru. But when we all share the roads – or the airport or the bus or the train – we need to look out for each other.
