Collinsville Is Cool

I was reading a story on about the 10 Coolest Small Towns and what do I find listed there but Collinsville, Connecticut.

The listing hit some of the high points of Collinsville, an artsy village edged by the Farmington River and  dotted with Victorian houses. Those high points include Collinsville Canoe & Kayak, which rents both for paddling on the river, the atmospheric LaSalle Market & Deli and the charming Crown & Hammer restaurant.

The article also mentioned the attraction that keeps me going back – a wooded rail trail that runs alongside the river and over it on a converted railroad bridge. It’s great for a stroll or a bike ride, and it’s never prettier than in the fall.

Collinsville is part of the town of Canton, and you’ll find its center where Route 179 crosses the Farmington River.
