CNN had a fun piece on tourist traps – the travel destinations that were classified as most disappointing in a survey of British tourists. Among them, were the Statue of Liberty and the White House.
Maybe the Brits were being biased. After all, the French gave us the Statue of Liberty, and that probably rankles. And the British have had it in for the White House since at least 1812, when they burned it down in a display of very bad manners.
To be fair, they didn’t think much of Stonehenge, either. The article quoted a "travel expert" who called it "an isolated pile of rocks in a usually muddy field."
The article also listed the 10 best global sights, not one of which I have seen. I guess I have something to look forward to …
