Looking for bargains south of the border? They’re everywhere, as long as you’re a Canadian. The Associated Press had a story, reported from Old Orchard Beach in Maine, about the resurgent Canadian dollar and resurgent Canadian tourism in the United States.
I say this with all due respect, because some of my best ancestors were Canadians, but only a Canadian would think of Old Orchard Beach for swimming. I don’t think that even a Scandinavian would jump in that freezing water unless there was a sauna in the picture somewhere.
Which is not to suggest that we don’t want Canadians to visit us. Oh, no. Please. Stop on by. And bring those dollars.
