I’ll tell you where to go … SAN FRANCISCO

Northwest has rolled out a round-trip airfare from Bradley to San Francisco that comes to about $250 with taxes and fees. More astonishing — it’s available on flights through next February.

The sale fare does not apply on Sundays and Fridays, and most of the connections are through Northwest’s hub in Detroit.

I’d hurry on this one. Availability is already very thin during July and August. And with no other airlines stepping forward to match the fare, it may not last long.

If you live in the eastern part of the state, search this fare out of Providence. A few carriers seem to be matching it from there. As with Hartford departures, there is very limited availability in mid-summer. But the Providence fares are available, at least technically, seven days a week.

Here are the airport codes you need for this one:

Bradley: BDL
San Francisco: SFO
Providence: PVD

Couldn’t find any mention of this on nwa.com and when I did some random searches for fares (including less popular times of year) I couldn’t find anything below about $400 — am I looking in the wrong place?
That said, congratulations on your wonderful site! I hadn’t been aware of it until recently. It’s really strong, funny and informative!

Alert reader Steve (he’s an alert reader for a living, I happen to know) is right – the Northwest fare seems to have sold out. It’s technically available now on American and Alaska Airlines but I’m having trouble seeing much availability on either. I’ll keep an eye on it.
