I’ll tell you where to go … FLORIDA

I’m seeing some round-trip fares in the $160 to $175 range – taxes and fees included – out of Bradley to several cities in Florida. Most of these fares are available on flights starting April 24 (just after the April school vacation) to June 13 or 14 (just before the summer vacation).

Poor kids. You’ll have to leave them home.

Everybody’s in on this one: American, USAir, United, Delta, Continental and Northwest, with fares for travel to Fort Myers, Tampa, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville and Orlando.

Availability is spotty, but seems to be lots better in June than in April or May. Example: I found a round trip from Bradley to Orlando from June 3 to June 10 for $157.

No telling how long these fares will last, though. If you’re going to do this, buy now.

Here are the airport codes you need for this one

Bradley: BDL

Fort Lauderdale: FLL

Fort Meyers: RSW

Jacksonville: JAX

Orlando: MCO

Tampa: TPA

West Palm Beach:PBI

If you’re up for a road trip, you can forget scratching for these fares and still go for the drive-out specials, where you get really low rental car rates to relocate a car from Florida to some point northward. I wrote about this already.
