I’ll tell you where to go … L.A.
| February 20th, 2007 No commentsI like Los Angeles. The car culture, the wide boulevards, the In-N-Out burgers, the palm trees and sunglasses. If you like L.A. and you’d like to go there before the end of the summer, now might be a good time to book.

Exotic America: Tucson
| February 19th, 2007 1 commentI’ve been around a bit, but I’ve never seen a more exotic landscape than the saguaro forests around Tucson, especially on a moonlit night.
It’s one of the places that every American should see.

Madrid, Round Trip, For $8.37
| February 18th, 2007 No commentsI know two people, I’ll just call them Mom and Dad, who are flying to Madrid and back for $8.37 each. I can’t tell you how to book that fare because it doesn’t exist. But I can tell you how it happened, and maybe some day you can position yourself to let something like that happen to you.

Awful Restraint
| February 15th, 2007 No commentsSo, we had another plane full of passengers stuck on a runway in a storm. This time it was for eight hours on JetBlue at JFK. This has to stop happening.

Amsterdam, But Not ‘Til Fall
| February 15th, 2007 No commentsNorthwest Airlines is offering a frequent-flier mileage incentive for the direct Bradley-to-Amsterdam flights it will start July 1. At the moment, it doesn’t look like a very appealing deal for the summer. But it might be worth thinking about for travel this fall.

Car Rental Merger
| February 14th, 2007 No commentsTwo corporations that own two car rental companies each are talking merger. Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group owns Dollar and, you guessed it, Thrifty. Vanguard Car Rental owns Alamo and National. Could a merger be good for consumers? Let me think about that. Ummm. No.

E-Mail Trip Folders
| February 14th, 2007 No commentsI am disorganized by nature, so I have to be a very organized traveler. If I weren’t, I would never get where I’m going. One of the most important tools I use to organize trips, especially long and complicates ones, is the folder in my Yahoo! mail account.
